We continue the fight to support our brothers and sisters in Central Conferences (Africa, Philippines, and Europe/Asia) who desire for an opportunity to disaffiliate from the UMC which has been denied them. Check out the WCA’s Fair for Some Fair for All initiative. (TAB ABOVE) To date the UMC has denied disaffiliation for ALL churches in the Central Conferences. This must be corrected!
If the progressive agenda passes at General Conference in Charlotte, the WCA will be here on May 4th to inform, resource, and work with congregations and individuals who wish to separate from the UMC. Churches who were told they don’t need to rush into deciding to disaffiliate. They will be confused, hurt and in for a rude awakening. The SEJ chapter of the WCA will be there to counsel and console them as they seek to find a way out.
If the UM General Conference supports a way out for churches in the US, we will be positioned to assist them in finding an exit door.
